Environmental Care: Working Together

Indigenous Plants, that is species of Australian plants originally located around your home, can provide better food and shelter to local birds and animals. Native bird and animal life can be increased around Mt. Eliza if we all plant indigenous plants in our gardens. This list will tell you where to buy them.

List of Indigenous Plant Nurseries on the Mornington Peninsula:

Buying plants close as possible to the revegetation site is recommended to maintain the local gene pool. If large amounts or specialised (ie rare species) stock is required, some nurseries will grow plants for you. You can learn to collect and propagate local species yourself. Collecting Native seeds requires a permit from DSE.
