Local Laws & Other Legislation

The Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Local Laws are proclaimed by the Council under the provisions of the Local Government Act (which is an Act of Parliament of the State of Victoria).

The objectives of the Shire’s Local Laws are to provide a safe and healthy environment in which the residents and visitors of the Mornington Peninsula are able to enjoy a quality of life that meets the general expectations of the community; and to regulate activities which may be detrimental to that quality of life.
